Sometimes it’s hard to see what is right in front of us. Zecheriah needed the angel to explain what he said. Isn’t that the case oftentimes?

I know I am often unsure of God’s will and purpose in my life. God seems to understand this as He tells Zecheriah that what he sees will be the proof that God is working, that God stand behind His Word.

The olive trees stand firm and provide what is needed in the lampstand.

Do the olive trees and the lampstand represent the trinity? Are we the seven bowls that are supported by the lampstand and sustained by the olive oil from the olive trees?

It’s a curious idea.

In this, Zecheriah was right to be confused; it is confusing.

The Lord reveals as we need to know and I know that I am like a bowl in the lampstand, without the oil, I am an empty vessel – worth nothing – useless.
