Things to Avoid. James 4

The world has many things that seem OK, but they actually aren’t good for us.
We, people, seek power – even if it’s only in our small world.
Often to the point of death, we strive for what we believe we should have.
James says that we do not have because we do not ask.
And I think it might be that we cannot wait. Or, as James also says, we ask only for our desires.
We, believers, are on the side of Jesus. The world is against Him – especially now, more than any other in modern times.
He gives us grace, understanding our struggles with the seen.
Satan is a great tempter, and it’s often hard to discern or know how we might be affected by some seemingly benign thing.
Be willing to see it from God’s authority. This will help you submit and flee from Satan’s advances.
There is only one better than us, people. He is in control of our days and plans. Keep this in mind.
It’s amazing how God works.
I was just thinking about how we have to choose between Jesus and the world literally minutes before writing this. He showed me this passage.
You are awesome, God!
