Jonah’s Displeasure Rebuked. Jonah 4

Jonah didn’t want to do what the Lord asked of him.
I set out today on my own uncomfortable journey. But God equips us with what we need for the task He calls us to.
He has been preparing the way.
Now, I just have to do the work to get it going and he will do the rest.
Jonah seemed to want retribution instead of God’s compassion. He wanted payback on others, but not himself.
Aren’t we that way sometimes?
Don’t we justify our actions?
We do not know what others have gone through to lead them to the point where they are. We are not to judge. Only to show the way as God sees fit.
Jonah even bought popcorn for the show he expected God to put on in the destruction of Nineveh. Wow!
But God’s show was for Jonah – and the benefit of the Ninevehans.
We are grateful for our blessings, yet often rail against God for hardship for ourselves, and also lacking compassion for others’ hardship, or lack of knowing.
Trust God to be good and faithful – and right.
