Sin wants to invade our lives. It is subtle.

Believers be cautious and help each other stay on track.

Lord, I often elevate myself above others.

I am a prideful woman.

I know I can be joyful and have satisfaction in my accomplishments but should not be in comparison to others’.

My deeds do not (or should not) have more or less meaning than that of others’.

⁴ But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable ^[a]without comparing himself to another. 

This, Lord, is news I accept gladly. This puts pride in perspective for me. Neither achievements nor faults are subject to comparison of others, only my self.

Never forgetting, I too was once ignorant. Someone showed me and now I must show others. Loving and caring for others — both those in the faith and outside of it.

In your accomplishments, do not boast except in love for Jesus. I need to be reminded of this often.
