James is a book that tells it like it is, and when he speaks of the things we aren’t to do, he is clear.
No parables or sugar coating. Sometimes we need to hear the truth unencumbered.
It’s up to me to decide whether to accept it or not.
I have a war going on inside: one side that wants the things that give me pleasure and the focus is on me, and the one God knows is best for me and those whom I encounter and are present in my life.
Although I am not a get-what-I-want-at-any-cost-kinda-girl, I am continually striving for more.
Even in my search for God, I want more, more, more.
The difference is, the more I get of God, the less my compulsion for other things – and I
trust God to provide for what’s to come.
I long to have pure motives.
I long to be not “of the world” as I exist in it.
I long for the Holy Spirit to crowd out my proud and haughty ego.
So, I can live placidly, humble as a place where He can dwell and shine
through His purpose for my life.
I exist only because he allows me to, anyway.
“If the Lord wills it” is the mantra I desire daily – and to do as He wants, in gladness.
Help me Lord to see clearly.
