The early church’s mission was to share the good news of Jesus, and to build the
church.
Is it really so much different now?
In its infancy, it was necessary to grow the people not only in number, but in maturity too. Again, I ask, is it so different today?
The church is certainly larger today, but I wonder if that would hold if we were to measure
per capita.
Paul supported those who were learning and provided encouragement to them. We
still need these things today.
Paul lifted up the church in prayer, both to recognize the accomplishments and the help needed to continue.
We need love to give love to our chosen family. It benefits all.
Paul calls on the Thessalonians to Initiate their kind and generous example, so we can be example to the world around us.
We can build a reputation for being different from the world.
This may draw down fire from dissenters, but we can look forward to our rescue and new life.
