Pearls are a miracle. Created by hard work.
The work is passive, but it happens anyway.
We can be like that pearl which will shine in its purity and reflect the hard work
of God.
I have been a tough shell to crack to get to the jewel inside.
My strongholds hold tight to me and I them, but God has gently pried loose the fingers that gripped me.
I think that I have been caught up in his net, which doesn’t just catch one kind of sinner, but all kinds of sinners.
Yet, not all the fish are saved.
These two short passages remind me of the value placed on the Kingdom of Heaven. A friend calls it Kingdom Work, and that resonates with me.
I am a pearl that God has worked on – perfecting me.
I may never be more than a freshwater pearl drudged up from the bottom with bumps and irregularities, but I know this is how God chose me.
He made me much more than I could ever be. I will praise him always.
