History never leaves. It can be forgotten. It can be ignored. But recognized or not, it is.
Just as God is, despite whether he is present in life or not.
King Darius is challenged to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. He is told it has already been decreed. It happened in the past. Darius checks the records and finds this to be true. Not only does the record show where and how and by whom, it also shows orders for those who could interfere to not do so. And lastly, it shows how it will be funded again, not just how the building is built but also provides for the welfare of the builders.
How good God is!
With this instruction, a consequence is tied. God, too, will step in where there is interference in His decrees.
We all live by laws and are affected by those that came before.
We are our history and our history is God.
