The Complaint of Moses. Numbers 11: 10 – 18

Moses has always been a hero of mine. Perhaps Charlton Heston had something to do
with this, but one of the things I connect with him on is his reluctance in leadership.
God called him but fears held him back.
How often have I felt the same?
And I think that’s the point.
People have needs and we often have self-pity (did I say often!), but Moses grew
frustrated with the people who had real feelings, real hunger.
So, Moses took his frustrations to the Lord.
How many times have I complained to God?
I did it just this morning!
The burdens we have to carry can get heavy. Sometimes they feel too heavy and we
feel like dropping them.
We can lose hope.
This is when the church can help.
The imperfect Church – just like Moses – doesn’t always respond in the way we like or even
need.
We must hold on to the faith that God will use those imperfects to our great hope, eventually.
