Who is Ephraim?
Why was he punished?
Hosea warns we are to act differently than people without God.
We are to turn to Him; not rejoicing in the things that are considered profitable to the world because God can take it all away.
He can take us from freedom to bondage.
In our selfish, leaning away from God. He gets angered.
Why? Because we are His.
I once took a cat back to the shelter because he wasn’t acting acceptably. How much more right does God have to reject us?
Hosea speaks of the days where God is forgotten. His servants are thought foolish and treated like they are crazy, shunned.
We are corrupted, just like in the days of Ephraim.
Our ancestors honored God, and He provided. But we have embraced the things he detests, even loathes. “Their glory will fly away like a bird,” showing, without God’s blessing, we are nothing.
God will make his absence loud and clear.
