It’s been said that wealth corrupts and poverty is the great equalizer.
Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why Jesus came into the world as he did.
Job seems to have had a blessed life with many children, livestock and servants. Not only did he have a big family, but they loved and delighted in each other.
God loved Job because he lived a godly life; he honored God in his ways and thoughts.
It seems unfair that God would allow such misery to be inflicted on Job.
As I read this passage, I think on how it was all a part of God’s intention.
Again, doesn’t seem fair.
Even God points Job out to Satan as a powerful servant of His. God surely knew that Satan would twist it somehow. Job’s blessed relationship with God benefited him, so Satan infers or states that without his blessing, Job would capitulate.
Confoundingly, seems unfair that God would use Job in His warfare.
But what is fair?
We are here only for God, just as rats in a lab are used for the purpose and powers of those that control them, God owns us.
